Pier 24 is located on the Embarcadero directly beneath the Bay Bridge, between Pier 26 and the Fire Station. Please note that all even-numbered Piers are located southeast of the Ferry Building, away from Fisherman’s Wharf.

Pier 24 Photography is unable to offer parking for its visitors. However, there is metered parking available along the Embarcadero, as well as paid public parking at the intersection of Bryant St. and the Embarcadero on Piers 30 and 32.
Public Transportation:
Pier 24 is accessible by public transportation. Inbound or outbound, both the "N" and the "T" MUNI lines stop on the Embarcadero between Folsom St. and Harrison St, approximately 100 yards from Pier 24. From the East Bay or South Bay, BART stops at the Embarcadero and transfers can be made to the both the "N" and the "T" MUNI trains, which stop between Folsom St. and Harrison St.

INDIVIDUAL VISITS TO PIER 24 PHOTOGRAPHY:
Do I need an appointment to visit the exhibition?
All visitors must have an individual appointment. We can only accommodate visitors with appointments. All appointments are scheduled through our online system. Individual appointments can be made for up to four people at a time.
When are appointments available?
Appointments are available during three periods, Monday through Friday: 10:00am – 12:00pm, 1:00pm – 3:00pm, and 3:15pm – 5:15pm. Each appointment lasts 2 hours.
How far in advance can I make an appointment?
Appointments can be scheduled up to 30 days in advance.
Do you permit walk-ins?
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate walk-ins.
Can I make reservations by telephone?
We ask that all appointments be made through our online scheduling system.
Can I add additional guests once I’ve made my appointment online?
All visitors to Pier 24 Photography must have their own individual appointment. As a result, we are only able to accommodate additional guests if they secure an appointment through our online scheduling system.
Do I need to make an individual appointment for my child?
Each visitor, including children 3 years of age and over, must make an individual appointment to visit Pier 24 Photography.
Is there a waiting list for appointments?
Pier 24 Photography does not maintain a waiting list. The online appointment system is updated in real-time as appointments are made or cancelled.
Do I have to arrive exactly at the time when my appointment begins?
You are welcome to arrive at any point during your appointment period. We just ask that you depart by the end time stated in your reservation.
How much does it cost to visit the space?
There is no admission fee for visiting Pier 24 Photography. We are always free and open to the public by appointment.
How do I cancel my appointment?
If you are unable to attend your appointment time, we recommend canceling promptly so that your appointment can be offered to another guest. You may call Pier 24 Photography at 415-512-7424 or email us at info@pier24.org to cancel your appointment.
How do I change my already scheduled appointment to another date and time?
We recommend making an appointment for a new date and time. Then, cancel your previous appointment, so that it can be made available to other guests.
Is photography permitted in the galleries?
The use of photography, without a flash, is permitted. No tripods are allowed within Pier 24 Photography.
GROUP VISITS TO PIER 24 PHOTOGRAPHY:
I would like to visit Pier 24 Photography with a group of friends or a group of co-workers. Do I qualify for a group appointment?
Group appointments are strictly reserved for museums and academic institutions accompanied by museum or school staff.
Once I submit my group request online, is my appointment officially scheduled?
Submitting a group appointment through the website does not guarantee you will be able to visit during your desired time. A Pier 24 Photography representative will be in touch with you shortly to confirm the details of your visit.
What do I do if there are more than 30 people in my group?
The maximum number of people admitted for a group reservation is 30. Should your group have more than 30 people, you can make a note of your circumstance in the “Additional Comments” section of the group reservation request. A Pier 24 Photography representative will notify you should we be able to accommodate additional guests during your desired date and time.
Does my whole group have to arrive at once?
In order to ensure a quick and easy check-in process, we ask that groups arrive at the start of their requested appointment time with all members present.
Can I personally lead a tour for my group through the galleries at Pier 24 Photography?
All requests to lead a tour on behalf of your group must be approved in writing by a staff member of Pier 24 Photography at least one week prior to your group's visit.

How do I get to Pier 24 by public transportation?

Where can I park my car when visiting Pier 24 Photography?
Unfortunately, Pier 24 Photography is unable to offer guest parking onsite due to our location. However, there is metered parking along the Embarcadero as well as public paid parking at the Hills Plaza Garage located on Spear St. between Folsom St. and Harrison and on Pier 30/32, at Bryant St. and the Embarcadero. Where do I lock my bicycle while visiting?
Due to limited on-site storage, we are unable to check bicycles within Pier 24 Photography. As a result, we recommend visitors with bicycles find locations along the Embarcadero where they can safely lock up their bicycles.

ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS
All groups must be affiliated with a specific university or high school and accompanied by a professor; otherwise, individual registration is required for each visitor. Groups of fewer than 10 people must register as individuals. Admission is free of charge.
MUSEUM GROUPS
All groups must be affiliated with a specific museum and accompanied by a museum employee; otherwise, individual registration is required for each visitor. Groups of fewer than 10 people must register as individuals. Admission is free of charge.
